The Aysen region is one of the favorite places to practice fly fishing. Here there are countless rivers, lakes, ponds and spring creeks teeming with trout and salmon.

The base is the city of Coyhaique, crossed by the mythical Simpson River, less than an hour from Balmaceda Airport. There are several lodges and outfitters operating in the area and we know the best.

Good fishing options in this area are the rivers Paloma, Aysen, Ñireguao, Emperador Guillermo, Blanco, among others. You can also practice sport fishing in the lakes Desierto, Elizalde and Caro, which are some of those recommended by your guides.

It is possible to use various fishing techniques, such as nymphs, streamers or dry, although for many specialists and seasoned anglers there is no more appropriate destination to experience the excitement of dry fly fishing.

The access airport is Balmaceda, 45 minutes away from the city of Coyhaique.
